This Edwardian Maple & co walnut pedestal desk was made in 3 sections. The top section lifts off the pair of pedestals, that are sited each side of the knee hole. As it is in3 parts, it makes it very easy to transport around the home or office.

Under the top, stand the 2 pedestals each fitted with 3 graduated drawers.
The brass drop handles with shaped back plates, are original. There are keys for the drawers.
The top surface, with a inset writing surface. The inset writing area is of fine leather, that is hand dyed in our own burnt orange colour, before being antiqued and with hand gilt tooling to the border.

This pedestal desk was made for sale by Maple & Company, who established their original store in Tottenham Court Road, London, in 1845. In 1891 the furniture manufacturing business was registered. Maple & co. furniture was known worldwide for the quality of its products.

This pedestal desk is a classic design by Maple &Co. and made in solid walnut with mahogany drawer linings.
