In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
It is in good condition, having been recently refinished and restored. The desk is generally clean and tidy throughout with a few small ink stains here and there and the leather surface is in good condition. The drawers run well however there are some old ink stains and other marks in the bases. One lock has also been removed at some time and a strip of wood put in its place. There are some normal signs of wear and age and there has been a repair to the wood on the top (see photo) but nothing detrimental and the desk displays beautifully and is ready for use.
