Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1880s.
There is also a great clear hallmark to both pieces for London 1885 together with the makers mark GH, I think for George Heath.
The hinged lid is a bayonet style, requiring a quarter turn and lift action, revealing the original cork in the inside of the cap to avoid evaporation of the precious contents. The cup fits well with a gilded interior.
Excellent condition and a very usable size measuring 4 3/4" x 2 1/2" wide.
