Description

Stunning Regency rosewood and marble top chiffonier side cabinet c.1830. Retaining the original back with a raised shelf on fine scrolling supports over a mirrored back panel and original white marble top. Over a two door cabinet with glazed arch panel doors with two adjustable shelves inside and one long drawer in the waist.

Superbly figured rosewood veneers to the top shelf, front and sides. Fabulous shaped gallery to the top, with large acanthus leaves carved in solid rosewood. Moulded drawer front and cabinet doors with brass trim, carved fan detail and a fine pair of columns with carved capitals and plinths. Note how the columns are fitted to the doors allowing them top open right back. Raised on turned buns at the front with brass barrel castors behind. Superior quality with solid mahogany groundwork and drawer linings. Excellent condition and particularly good colour, mellowed with age. Cleaned and polished in our workshops. Key supplied.
