Design and craftsmanship of the highest order. The centre piece of this magical ring is a natural, unheated baguette cut sapphire rubover set in yellow gold, which “floats” within a highly ornate platinum surround. Twenty-eight rose cut and eight old mine cut diamonds are set in the finely pierced and milgrained rectangular cluster, with decorative engraving in the closed gallery. Beautiful “ribbon” shoulders lead to slim D-shape shank. Utterly magical.
Accompanied by sapphire report number 78140-32 from Gemmoligical Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating.
Cut – Baguette cut sapphire with rose cut and old cut diamonds.
Colour – The diamonds are G to H.
Clarity – Some visible inclusions in the sapphire, although this does not impact on the vibrancy of the stone. The diamonds are SI1 to SI2; all are clean to the naked eye.
Carat – The sapphire is a known 1.18 carat, with a total approximate diamond weight of 0.37 carat.
Circa – 1910.
Size – Q 1/2 (UK) or 8.25 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down.
Measurements – The sapphire is 7.77 x 2.91mm. The head of the ring is 17.55 x 13.3mm. Sits 4mm from the finger.
Metal – Platinum (French hallmark). The sapphire is in 18k yellow gold (tested).
