Puckerings has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
They could be either French or English and date to around 1880, a wonderful Victorian set. The salts are both heavy and not thin and tinny and retain the wonderful gilded interior to protect from the corrosive salt. The spoon are a wonderful ladle shape with pretty bowls again retaining the gold plating.
As I mention, the box is equally stunning in a worn and faded velvet box, really super quality with the interior having a beautiful green silk lining and a most unusual bevelled mirror on the inside of the lid.
Exceptional and in wonderful condition. Each salt measures 1 1/4" tall and a rim diameter of 1 3/4" and each spoon measures 3 1/4" in length. The box measures 7" x 3".
