Delightful Tokyo Artist Japanese Wood & IVory Plaque - Basket Of Fruit

As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this highly decorative circular wall hanging panel artist signed by Takagi Hoshin 1885-1970 , a Tokyo school artist recorded as active in the late Meiji or Taisho period Circa 1920''s , the circular metal mounted hardwood panel is elaborately decorated with a basket containing a multitude of stained and carved Ivory Fruits and Nuts, including Figs, Grapes , Apples, Berries, Hazelnuts, Cherries and other exotic fruits, some fruit and Nuts spilling from the overfilled basket, the panel suspended upon its original silk hanging cord and signed in an Ivory tablet to the front, complete with fitted carrying case .
 
Literature:
 
Takagi Hoshin (1885-1970), who was said to have worked in Tokyo was most active during the period 1912 to 1930. He was a member of the Tokyo Chokokai (Tokyo Ivory Carvers'' Association)
