Antique Longcase Clock

18th century
Description

A small Georgian 'cottage' oak and mahogany crossbanded longcase clock. A flat moulded hood pediment and gilded capped hood columns. A brass and silvered dial with corner spandrels and a well engraved dial centre. A date aperture with the original single hand dial layout. A 30 hour mechanism striking the hours on a bell.

Henry and John Higinbotham are recorded in Applebys' 'Clockmakers of Chershire' book as working from 1780-1791.
