Description

Fine Edwardian era brass mounted marble top chest of drawers c.1910. Original white marble top with a moulded edge over four long oak lined drawers. Drawer fronts with tulip wood veneers arranged in a symmetrical pattern with inlaid stringing and a mahogany surround, repeated on the sides of the cabinet. Brass escutcheon plates and laurel wreath handles. Exceptional brass mounts, with Classical winged figures at the centre of a scrolling foliate frieze across the top and continued on the sides. Further mounts to a pair of turned and fluted solid mahogany columns which flank the drawers, and also to the front feet. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops.
