Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Anglo-Indian silver refers to silver items crafted in India during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries under British influence. These pieces combine traditional Indian decorative metalworking techniques with European utilitarian vessel shapes.

These vessels were crafted from sterling silver or high-grade silver alloys using hand-repousse and chasing techniques. Artisans worked the metal from both interior and exterior surfaces to form raised foliate patterns and architectural borders.

Authentic items display hand-hammered surface variations, distinctive regional design patterns such as Kutch foliate scrollwork or Madras swami figures, and precise relief carving. They may feature maker stamps, purity marks, or remain un-marked sterling silver.

An antique silver beaker can be repurposed on a desk as a stationary holder, used on a vanity for brushes, or styled within a tray arrangement on a sideboard as a barware accent.

Maintain silver by applying a specialised silver polishing cream with a microfibre cloth to remove tarnish while preserving dark oxidisation within deep crevices. Store in dry environments away from direct moisture.
