Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1890s.
Made from one of my favourite timbers, Burr Ash with it's golden wavy figuring. The top is inset with a flush polished brass handle. The front has a mounted brass escutcheon which houses the working key.
The leatherette and velvet has been perfectly colour-matched to the original tufted silk lining inside the lid.

The original bevelled glass is retained to the front of the box and this front falls to allow the two fully fitted drawers to be accessed.
A large size measuring 14 1/2" x 9" x 8 3/4" tall to top of domed lid. Late Victorian in era, it dates to around 1890/1900. Excellent condition.
