Pair Of Silver Bonbon Dishes By Mappin & Webb London 1912

A superb pair of exquisitely designed solid silver bonbon dishes. The shape of each dish is very elegant with a splayed border that has been stylishly fret cut with rectangles and circles. This same pattern is mirrored on the pedestal foot of each. The lovely bifurcated loop handles add great artistic flair to the dishes.
 
Hallmarks are very clearly visible on the base of each dish for the London Assay Office with a date mark for 1912 and the maker''s marks for one of England''s finest renowned silversmiths: Mappin & Webb. On the base of each foot the retailer''s marks have been stamped for Waring & Gillow.
 
A very fine pair in super antique condition.
