Marble Top Bombe Chest of Drawers with Marquetry Inlay C.1900.

Description

Gorgeous French marble top bombe chest of drawers c.1900. Original well-figured and shaped rose marble top with thumb moulded edge over two short and two long drawers. Superb example of the from with serpentine bombe shaped front and sides with symmetrically arranged kingwood veneers and fine floral pattern marquetry inlays. Original gilded ormolu mounts, handles and escutcheon plates of particularly good quality. Shaped apron and legs with further ormolu mounts. Solid oak drawer linings, top and back panels. An old repair to the veneers at the top of right hand side. Otherwise excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops.
