Carved Oak & Walnut Kneehole Desk C.1870.

Description

Splendid mid 19th.c. kneehole desk c.1870. Good sized top with leather writing surface over two long drawers and two banks of three smaller drawers of graduated depth, arranged around a central kneehole. Solid oak carcass and plinth with carved detail around the top and to the front. Solid walnut drawer fronts beautifully carved with a crisp scrolling foliate pattern and retaining the original Gothic handles. The carving continues on the side panels which are also in walnut, as are the three rear panels. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops.

Dimensions: width 51½", depth 27½", height 29".
