Mytton Antiques - Jerrard Nares has dated this piece to the 1850s.
The octagonal steel barrel, with a sighting pommel, over the pull out ram rod. The mechanism well engraved with scrolling leaf decoration, likewise the trigger guard. The walnut body curving to a fluted grip, finished with a raised diamond pattern butt plate. In good, untouched, original condition, with the mechanism working.
