Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the 1890s.
They are fully sprung & the cushions are generously filled with feathers. The frames are satin birch, which seems to have been the favourite wood in Sweden. I can see why, because this wood has beautiful grains & a silky finish. They are also well carved on the tops, down the arms, on & between the feet. These armchairs would be a fabulous addition to any home & they look good from all angles, back & front.
