Dating to around 1900, this is a really super and highly sought-after large wooden chess set, based on the French Regency or Regence design turned and carved in Boxwood & Ebony.

The complete set remains in really excellent condition with minor wear commensurate with age, it comes with a polished wooden storage box. A good size, the king measuring 3 7/8" tall; the box measures 7" x 6" x 4".
