Poirot Art Deco has dated this piece to the 1940s.

David Joel was the joint founder of the distinguished Betty Joel firm. When his wife retired, he purchased the factory in 1937 to manufacture as David Joel Limited.
Like Betty he designed many beautiful pieces of furniture, often using the best materials. He used many woods available from the British Empire at the time including, Canada, Australia, British Honduras, West Africa and in this example from India. Indian Laurel is a close grained heavy wood, dark walnut in colour, and in the solid the waste factor makes it expensive. This sidebord dates from the late 1930s to 1940s.
A matching table is also available and has been listed.
The sideboard is in very good condition.
