Lazy Susan – George III Mahogany

This is a superb example of a Mahogany George III circular “Lazy Susan”.
 
It has a moulded oversailing dished top centred by a shell patera within alternating boxwood bands, with a pedestal socle, and a turned circular base (the circular base rotates easily). The inlay has been exquisitely crafted.
 
This wonderful antique from the late Georgian era will add lustre and elegance to stylish dinner tables.
 
The condition of this Lazy Susan is excellent with only very minor evidence of wear and tear over the last 200 years or so.
 
 
About the Date of Manufacture
 
This splendid antique was produced in the era of King George III (1760-1820), probably towards the end of his reign in about 1815 at about the same time Napoleon was defeated at Waterloo and exiled to St Helena. This was a period in history when Great Britain was achieving its apogee of power and wealth.
