Art Deco Hallmarked Silver And Enamel Crown Compact

A splendid English hallmarked silver compact dated 1940 assayed in Birmingham made by John William Barrett, the compact is square with chamfered corners and edges, hinged at the back with a push button catch to open the top is finished in a rich blue guilloche enamel centred with a silver crown. The reverse of the compact is engine turned and it is hallmarked inside with an internal mirror measuring 3 ½ inches across. Some light surface scratches to be expected and a small crack in the internal mirror, otherwise the condition is good.
