1920 - 1940
Description

I am delighted to offer for sale a sought

after pair of landscape prints by the famous artist Alfred Fontville De Breanski Junior whose signature has been written in the lower left and right corners.

-

One example depicts a winding shallow river scene with highland cattle watering at the waters edge and a wonderful mountainous backdrop with late evening sunset beyond.

-

The other example depicts a similar scene with sheep grazing amongst the heather on a rocky hillside with a high torain of mountains towering into the skyline again during late evening.

-

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Alfred Fontville De Breanski (Junior) was one of seven children born to the prolific British landscape painter, Alfred De Breanski (Senior)(1852-1928). Though his paintings emanate those of his father in palette and subject matter, his landscapes are executed in a slightly less formal style. His main body of work concentrates on the effects of sunlight on the Highland scenery at different times of the day. Between 1905 and 1920, de Breanski painted a series of English garden scenes done in a colourful, impressionistic style. He occasionally signed his paintings 'A.F. de Breanski Jr.' De Breanski exhibited several works during his lifetime at the Royal Academy and at the Royal Society of British Artists.
