Description

A beautiful late Victorian period satinwood writing desk, or writing table. Of fine construction with solid satinwood and attractive satinwood veneers onto a mahogany carcas. Decorated throughout with painted detailing in a neo-classical style. The top is fitted with a sumptuous green leather writing surface. Above this is a super-structure with small drawers and a brass gallery. To the main body of the table is one long central drawer flanked by a pair of shorter drawers. The outline of this desk is of serpentine form. Standing on elegant turned and tapering legs which terminate in their original brass castors. Decorated to the rear so that this table could be free-standing within a room if desired. Offered for sale in excellent condition, ready to go straight into the home.
