A Magnificent Japanese Meiji period tusk vase on carved hardwood stand, the enormous tusk highly carved in intricate detail depicting a large monkey group with a mother monkey shielding her baby from a wasp as a second monkey looks on in amusement. This impressive tusk vase is signed at the bottom and revolves on its double tiered stand and the total height is 28 inches. Tusk size H:35.5cm W:14cm D:12cm
Condition: Small but stable, age related split at the bottom which has been filled to strengthen (see images).
