An Attractive Victorian Silver Plate Claret Jug

Description

An attractive silver plated cut glass claret jug. The mount is very much in the Victorian gothic revival and has a hinged lid with ivory knop. There is engraved pattern to the lid and collar and the spout features a cast mask. The fully cast serpentine handle is decorated with a female head, foliar and scroll details. The tapering glass body is beautifully cut with feathering and stars and the jug has a star base. A most attractive and practical example. Dimensions below.
