Regency Period Oak Silver Chest with Metal Banding. C.1810.

19th century
Description

A good sturdy Oak Silver Chest with plate banding around corners and edges of the box. It was made by fine London maker

John Beauchamp. Birthdate: circa March 25, 1781.

It has his brass makers plate with his address along the edge of the inside of the box, it also has the owners plate to the front of the box "Thomas Wyatt Esq" it also has No 3 stamped to the front.

It retains it's original stamped Georgian lock with original key. (Lock by Barons)

The inside has tray which rests to the top of the inside, most of the inside has been covered in green baize which is worn. The box itself in wonderful condition, a really good piece which could have many uses.

Dimensions approx. ; 20.5 inches wide, 16.5 inches tall and 13.25 inches deep.
