Impressive French Ormolu-mounted Mantel Clock

Description

An impressive and beautiful quality mid-19th century French MANTEL CLOCK in perfect working order.

The case is of Italian white marble, fitted with fine quality ormolu mounts and feet, whilst it is surmounted by a finely cast bronze figure of a classical lady reading from an open gilded book on her lap. The eight-day movement features an outside countwheel and strikes hours and half-hours on a bell. The enamel dial is perfect and original as are the gilded 'Breguet' moon hands.

Signed by the maker (Dehne a Paris) to both the dial and the movement. Fully guaranteed for at least two years. 17.25ins wide; 16in high; 6ins deep. (44 x 40.5 x 15.25cms)
