A good quality late 19th century French CARRIAGE CLOCK of pretty oval form.

The case is of high quality, with its four bowed and bevelled glass panels and with an oval glass panel to the top below the shaped cast brass handle. The 8-day movement, which retains its original platform lever escapement, strikes hours and half-hours on a gong.

The enamel dial is perfect, and original as are the blued steel 'spade' hands. Full working order and guaranteed at least two years. 7.5ins high (handle up); 4.5ins wide; 3.75ins deep. (19 x 11.5 x 9.5cms)
