Antique English Oak and Silver Plate Butter Dish C.1890

Description

A handsome late Victorian butter dish in the winning combination of solid English Oak with silver plated mounts.

The lid lifts to reveal the original creamware ceramic liner which of course is removable, The underside of the lid marked EPNS for Electro-Plated Nickel Silver, there isn't a makers mark but these items were invariably made by John Grinsell or Daniel and Arter.

Dating to around 1890, it remains in excellent condition measuring 5 1/2" handle to handle x 5 1/4" x 3" tall to lid finial.
