Christian Davies Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
With an arrangement of nine rectangular drawers each with solid mahogany fronts, oak and cedar linings, an aesthetic style solid brass handle and retaining the original locks and working key. The pedestals are flanked by fluted columns with solid mahogany panelled ends and back. The whole supported on a mahogany plinth with concealed castors. English circa 1880-1900

Condition: This desk is in wonderful original condition, cleaned and waxed
Charles Hindley & Son were London antique furniture and cabinet makers who traded from 1766-1898. Their premises were in Oxford Street, London, from where they made furniture by Royal Appointment, and also exhibited in the Great Exhibition.
