Silver Rimmed Jug / Match Striker London 1902

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Woodbridge Antiques

A very neat Edwardian, silver rimmed jug / match striker of miniature proportions, probably used as a match striker as the glass lower half of the jug bears treaded ribbed glass. It has a well- formed handle to one side. The rim of the glass is silver with a small spout. Hallmarks are clearly visible on the side of the silver rim for the London Assay Office with a date mark of 1902 along with the Lion Passant indicating sterling silver. Maker’s marks, though rubbed, are still visible for the silversmith Simon & Adler.
