Set of Four Ash & Elm Armchairs C.1880.

Description

Fine set of four late 19th.c. ash and elm smoker’s bow armchairs c.1880. Attractively shaped and figured elm backrests and arms with turned ash spindles over generously proportioned elm saddle seats. On particularly good turned legs, set at a splayed angle for extra stability and joined with double turned stretchers. Original maker’s labels to the underside for Cook & Townshend cabinet makers of Liverpool. Excellent colour and condition cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
