Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The side supports are barley twist and topped with finials. The back legs are also barley twist and the stretchers and front legs are turned. Originally they would have had caned seats, and have been newly recovered over existing upholstery which is sound.

Quite solid to sit on, some slight give to a few joints. Newly recovered over existing upholstery which is sound. General wear and marks commensurate with age to the frames.
