~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~
A rare and superb gothic clock set by the famous maker Japy Freres. It is beautifully gilded and finished bronze.
Flying buttress to the top support a tapered finial. Candelabra are conforming in style with pieced cylindrical bodies and stylised acanthus arms.

The large dial is porcelain enamel on copper with a gilt bronze centre and finely cut blued steel hands.
The French movement is by Japy Freres and is of the company's usual high quality. We have fully overhauled and tested the movement. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. The dial is also in excellent condition just some tiny nibbles next to the winding holes and some very faint hairlines. the clock's finial is slightly distorted.
