Made in the late 19thc. in the style of George I chairs.
The set of 8dining chairs, consists of a pair of armchairs, and a further 6 side chairs.

The chairs with a shaped central splat that moulds into your back when sitting.
The top-rails each with an exquisite scroll carving to each side of the shoulder, and with a carved shell below.
The front legs are of cabriole shape, carved with ribbon and foliage design at the knees. The legs end on pad feet with shell carving.

These are exceptional chairs, made by a cabinet-maker who only was good at his craft, but also knew about proportion and design.
