Acid Etched Cameo Glass Claret Jug German Silver Mount

A stunning 19th century continental claret jug with an acid etched cameo glass body (probably Harrach), decorated with fruiting and flowering vines on either side, highlighted with raised gilding, the circular foot with gilt splash decoration. This fine claret jug has a beautiful German silver gilt mount and hinged lid decorated with grape & vine motifs, floral scroll work and a grape cornucopia finial, marked 800 on the side with the crown & crescent moon. This splendid jug is a wonderful continental example and is in excellent overall condition with no damage; it stands 13 ½ inches tall.
