Description

Take a good look at the photographs for this stunning claret jug, it is hard to see the stunning decorative quality without looking at the close ups.

A bulbous design with alternate panels around the body, one looking almost like elegantly draped fabric and the other with a beautiful engraved floral and foliate scroll design; quite stunning and not done justice in the pictures, the glass stopper echoing the design to the body with a combination of scalloping and foliate engraving.

The top is solid or sterling silver hallmarked for London 1908, making this a true Edwardian example. Excellent undamaged condition measuring 11" high including stopper.
