Georgian Mahogany Chest of Drawers

18th century
Description

A good quality set of Georgian mahogany drawers dating from the late 18th / early 19th Century. They are a typical design set on bracket feet with graduating drawers with brass drop handles. They are very well made and in good original condition with a lovely warm patina. The oak lined drawers run well and it is a solid sturdy set. There are the usual minor signs of wear and use and some marks on the top surface but nothing detrimental. There are some historic woodworm holes in the back boards which have been reated as a precaution and don't affect the piece structurally. The mahogany has faded somewhat over the years, leaving the drawer fronts lighter than the top and sides but it still displays beautifully. Overall a good honest set of drawers.
