A lovely Italian ormolu & rosewood Grand tour inkstand c.1840 with 4 chased ormolu feet holding up a rosewood base mounted with an ormolu inkwell with chased decoration and a hinged lid, set with a central piece of polished turquoise flanked by a shell cameo of a Roman gentleman in profile on each side. Inside the inkwell has 3 compartments with its original pounce pot and is in good overall condition commensurate with age and use.
