Hobson May Collection has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The decoration is repeated on the stand. The condition is reasonably good, there is a very fine hairline crack to the inside of the cover, minor staining and chips to the underside of the stand, these small blemishes are to be expected in an antique piece that has been in use for over 100 years. We have shown these clearly in the photographs. This large Victorian blue and white cheese dish would make an imposing addition to any dining table or a striking decorative item in the kitchen or on a dresser.
