Handsome Victorian Crocodile Skin Clad Jewelry Box

Description

Perfect for either a lady or gentleman, a wonderfully handsome antique jewellery box covered in a dark chocolate brown piece of crocodile or alligator skin.

The inside is superb, nice and clean but retaining it's original silk and velvet lining in a vibrant rich red colour.

There are four sections to the removable tray, including a central section for a pocket watch (which would work for a bracelet too) and a long ring holder, which would accommodate eight to ten rings. There is a nice spacious compartment under the tray.

The top of the box has a chromium plated carry handle and the box comes complete with a tasselled working key. The inside is signed in gold by the retailer, M Jones and Co. / St Pauls Church Yard.

Dating to around 1890 / 1900, late Victorian the box remains in excellent condition. Measures 9" x 6 1/2" x 3 3/4" tall.
