~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~

A rare original antique French ormolu (finely gilded bronze) clock mounted with exquisite jasperware type porcelain. The porcelain has a delicate green ground intricately decorated in relief in white. The panel below the dial has a scene of cherubs playing in a garden, the lower panel has a charming portrait of Marie Antoinette.

The dial is porcelain and is decorated with elaborate over-glaze gilt decoration and is complete with finely cut gilt brass hands. Please note that this type of clock does not have a glazed bezel.

The French movement is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. The porcelain is in excellent condition with no damage. The dial is also in good condition just a small chip next to the left hand winding hole and some of the jewel half hour markers missing.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
