Antique English Sterling Silver Tea Caddy - William Comyns - 1893

Description

An absolutely stunning English solid or sterling repousse silver caddy in an unusual square shape.

All four sides incorporate a central decorative cartouche, all vacant and could be engraved for that personal touch if desired.

The pull off lid is particularly handsome with an acorn finial.

There are clear hallmarks on both the top and base for London 1893 and the makers initials W C for the famous silversmith William Comyns.

Wonderful quality to expected from this highly collectible silversmith and excellent condition. Good gauge silver, weighing a good 4.56 ounces or 129.7 grams.
