Large Japanese Copper Onlaid Tsuba - Edo Period - Signed -masayuki Hogen Zo

As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this lovely Edo Period (Circa 1860) Mokko form Copper & mixed metal onlaid Tsuba, depicting five onlaid Silver flying Cranes amidst fine Katakiribori carved clouds, the Onlaid Manchurian Cranes further detailed with Shakudo legs and beaks as well as Gold eyes , the rim of the Mokko form Tsuba is further decorated with a solid Shakudo carved and shaped rim , a fabulous rare form Tsuba from a recorded artist : Nomura Masayuki , a great addition to your Tsuba , arms and armour or Japanese metalwork collection .
 
Literature: Nomura Masayuki ???? was given the title of Hogen. Active in Kaei 4th year (1851). From Awa province (in modern Tokushima prefectures), Shikoku Island, Nomura Masayuki is listed on page 360, in the book Toso Kinko Jiten (Wakayama Takeshi).
