Japanese Edo Period Onlaid Praying Mantis Tsuba

A charming Japanese late Edo period Tsuba forged from iron it is onlaid with copper and gold depicting a praying mantis by a reed on one the top side with a smaller detailed reed on the reverse. This splendid Tsuba has two open hitsu and is in excellent overall condition measuring 3 ½ inches at its widest.
