Description

An unusual and very fine quality late 19th century Sheraton Revival satinwood REVOLVING BOOKCASE in good original condition.

This very decorative bookcase is veneered throughout in satinwood and painted to the shaped top with garlands of flowers and leaves arranged around the central "Kaufmann" style scene of a maiden with Cupid in attendance. The divisions below are delightfully fret-carved and painted with oval panels of musical emblems. A very pretty and quite rare example. 28ins high; 18.5ins square (71cms high; 47cms square)
