Pair of Antique French Gilt Wood Salon Chairs

1900 - 1920
Description

This pair of antique French gilt wood salon armchairs have some fine details on the wood & have just been re-upholstered in a cream fabric. They have oval upholstered backs & padded arms. The backs, arms & seat edges are all nicely carved & the legs are turned & fluted. The gilding is original & is a bit rubbed, mainly on the edge of the arms. I think that’s a good original look, so we didn’t try to hide it. These chairs are in good condition & I would date them to around the 1910-20’s period & they are Louis XV style.

Height – 40 inches, 101 cm

Seat height – 18 inches, 46 cm
