A Superb William Comyns Silver Table Match Box

A superb Victorian silver table match box by the great William Comyns. This delightful and rather rare collector's piece has birds and flowers to the top with a central vacant cartouche. There is a mask below holding drapes. The matchbox slides open for access and there are cutaways to the sides to reveal the strikers. The inner box is a replacement. A fine and usable item by a great maker. Dimesnions below.

Condition :- Excellent, with no losses or splits. There is a small dent to one side above the striker, commensurate with age and use.
