Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Popularised during the 19th century, a Victorian work table was designed specifically to facilitate needlework and embroidery, typically featuring shallow drawers for tools and a suspended fabric well or wooden basket to store textiles.

These tables were constructed using solid cabinet timber such as walnut, mahogany, or rosewood, frequently accented with figured wood veneers like burr walnut, carved fretwork, brass fittings, and fabric-lined wells.

Authentic period examples exhibit 19th-century cabinetmaking techniques, including hand-cut dovetail joints on drawers, original brass locks or castors, carved fretwork supports, and age-consistent oxidisation across timber finishes.

A Victorian work table functions as a distinctive accent piece, serving effectively as an occasional side table beside a sofa, positioned within a bay window, or used for storage in a hallway.

Position the piece away from direct heat sources and bright sunlight to prevent timber shrinkage or veneer lifting, dust regularly using a soft microfiber cloth, and apply beeswax polish sparingly following the grain.
