The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1890s.
The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. This is the A.W.Co grade which was produced from 1889 to 1901. The movement is signed and the serial number 8,393,756 dates it back to 1897. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover upon which is engraved the name William Hartley... the inside of this protective cover has a lovely sunburst pattern.
The watch itself measures 52mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop.
There is a patent date on the case of 7 Dec 88. The case has a little rubbing in places but overall is very nice for such an early piece.

The acrylic lens is in good condition.
The signed white enamel dial is in good condition with blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
