Stunning Victorian Flamed Mahogany Scotch Chest of Drawers C1860

19th century
Description

This is an absolutely stunning victorian flamed mahogany scotch chest of drawers and dating from aorund 1860. It has a moulded edge to the bowed top with long frieze drawer immediately below and with three deep hat drawers, the middle one being longer than the two on either side. There are three long graduating drawers all of which are oak lined and with turned mahogany knob handles inset with mother of pearl. To the base there is a secret long plinth drawer.

To each side of the chest there is a carved corbal support with a beautiful barley twist column it stands on lovely original turned mahogany legs.

The whole top section of the chest lifts off the base for ease of transport and is joined by pegs.

It measures: 56" high X 23" deep X 51" wide
